Travel Now, Travel Far and Travel Cheaper with the US Dollar

The U.S. dollar is worth more than the euro and has gained more value than other currencies. While this is the case, it is the opportune time to get more bang for your buck as it relates to travel. When traveling to global destinations that would typically cost more for your flight, accommodations, food and entertainment, the value of the dollar now makes it more reasonable for travel to that global destination you’ve been longing to visit……or even live. But wait, you know this won’t last forever, right? That’s why it’s important to jump on inexpensive fares and accommodations as they are published or sought after.

Many foreign destinations are soliciting and marketing for travelers to visit their destination and spend money. The benefit of doing this is two-fold. You get to go on a trip that you’ve been wanting to go on and others get to benefit by you spending your money to assist in their local communities and economy. It can be a WIN-WIN situation!

Now the question becomes, where can you find the best fares? US travelers or anyone’s income by US currency can take advantage of not only less expensive travel at the destination but also on the airfare. Skyscanner and Google Flights are two places to always look for good fares. Additionally, many of the US and foreign carriers are offering several low fares to global destination.

Now that we are in the autumn/fall and going into the winter season, prices are much cheaper. If you can’t travel hack to get other deals, these cheap prices are worth it. Also, most locations no longer have covid-19 travel restrictions. So, you can travel and take advantage of the low fares and get more bang for your buck.

A tip to traveling is having the flexibility to take advantage of discounted fares. Just make sure that other logistics lineup with your desired goals and outcomes. By this I mean, you don’t want to go to a destination and not be able to have a good time, so you must make sure that you want to be able to do the things that are most important to you when you go.

Traveling to a destination where you’d like to be on the beach requires that you travel to the time of year that is ideal for beach weather. This means you don’t want to travel there when it is cold or the rainy season. Be sure to always know the general seasons for your destination. Of course, this doesn’t guarantee good weather, but it generally shouldn’t be the opposite season for your required activities.

In addition, depending on your destination and interests, make sure that your specific interests you will be available during the time of visitation. It makes no sense to visit if you can’t do what you would like to do when going. You would be very disappointed with a face of muscle-loss if you wanted to swim in warm or cool waters and show up to go swimming in Cape Town, South Africa in July which is their winter, and the water is cold.

The same principles apply to tours, museums, beaches, local events and even restaurants if they are closed during the low season. Generally speaking, most people don’t like to travel somewhere because they got a great deal on airfare and can only sit in the hotel room. While that may still be an option for a break and provide you with a getaway, be mindful of your requirements. The more you know, the better.

Due to these variables, is why the airfare drops during low season for various destinations. The airlines still need to fly their planes there for business travelers and others, but they want to fill as many seats as possible. So, they lower the fares during the low season for those destinations.

Buying airfare tickets far in advance with flexibility often affords you with better options, even if you must change it later.

All in all, it is still cheaper to fly using the US dollar to European and other destinations where the dollar is stronger than the local currency. Just be sure that you’re not cheating yourself of the expected time you wish to have at your destination. Now, get to trotting the globe.
